Alaska COVID-19 TRAVEL INFORMATION

Updated: Thursday, June 2, 2021 10 a.m. AST

Alaska's travel mandates and orders are now travel advisories. These processes and best practices, although not required, are still encouraged by the Alaska Travel Industry Association (ATIA) and Governor Dunleavy’s administration. ATIA, the state’s leading membership association for Alaska’s travel industry, asks that all travelers to our state are diligent and follow protocols to keep you and our communities safe.

Vaccinations:  Explore Alaska does NOT require you to have a Covid vaccination to experience Alaska with us

Masks:

A.)  Explore Alaska does NOT require you to wear a mask

B.)  Your pilot does NOT wear a mask for two reasons:

  1. Wearing a mask has been proven in many scientific pier reviewed studies to lower oxygen intake to your brain to below safe levels which has been shown to cause headaches, and impair judgment and critical thinking ability…three problems you do not want your pilot to have!

  2. Wearing a mask to prevent becoming infected with SARS-CoV-2 virus (which causes Covid-19 disease) has been scientifically proven to be only marginally effective at best.

Other Travel Considerations

No matter what season of the year it is in Alaska all activities depend on the weather.  For your safety we only fly when the weather allows it.  This is not to say they we only fly when the weather is “severe clear”.  If that were the case then it would sometimes take days to go anywhere in Alaska.  Your pilot has been an Alaska resident since 1972 and has traveled, lived, and worked in the remotest regions of Alaska, off the road system, for most of those years.

You must be ready and willing to accept the fact that there might be weather days…days when we cannot fly because of bad weather.  When that happens we just hole up and wait it out.  And of course this can alter the departure date for the return flight to your home state or country.  It is just a fact of life in Alaska and we all have to adapt to it!

We look forward to seeing the smiles on your face when you take a Private Guided Alaska Adventure with us!  We'll see you here.
